What causes Psoriasis, causes Psoriasis, Psoriasis doctor, Psoriasis treatment, Psoriasis treatment expert, Psoriasis, Kayakalpglobal

Some call it a mystery and some say it unknown. But our studies showed that it generally occurred in only those who had a genetic tendency. This tendency may cause the skin's immune system to react to 'triggers', which can cause inflammation in the body in the long run.

It may be hereditary i.e. already running in the family. It was also seen in our Studies at Kayakalp that certain types of medications or infections may also result in the condition or can seriously cause flare-ups.

Studies also revealed that Psoriasis was also linked to other health issues such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

It’s also seen that skin cells usually mature over 30 days, however, in psoriasis, skin cells are produced every 5-7 days.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition, which means that for some reason the body's immune system attacks and destroys healthy body tissue, in this case primarily the skin cells. It can be associated with other autoimmune conditions such as diabetes, and up to 25 per cent of patients with psoriasis will also suffer from a related form of arthritis.

Psoriasis affects both genders equally and may occur at any age. And it’s not a genetic disease as studies have shown. Psoriasis affects both genders equally and may occur at any age. Best Vitiligo/Leucoderma Ayurvedic Treatment in Delhi

Best Vitiligo Ayurvedic Treatment in Delhi, Best Leucoderma Ayurvedic Treatment in Delhi, Best vitiligo doctor in Delhi, Best leucoderma doctor in Delhi

Vitiligo is a common, genetic, autoimmune skin disease in which there is loss of pigment from areas of the skin resulting in irregular white spots or patches. The skin has normal texture. Vitiligo may appear at any age. Although it is a progressive condition, many people experience years or decades without developing new spots.

Autoimmune disorders are characterized by the body's immune system attacking its own tissue or cells, in this case, the melanocytes (pigment cells which give the skin its color). Normally the immune system's white blood cells and antibodies help protect the body from harmful substances, called antigens, which may be derived from bacteria, viruses, toxins, or other sources.  In an autoimmune disorder, the immune system mistakenly begins to attack healthy body tissue. Scientists are of the opinion that, in most people with autoimmune disease, the immune system is basically normal outside of the autoimmune attack. Thus, people with generalized vitiligo are thought to have otherwise healthy immune systems except for the specific immune response to melanocytes.

Vitiligo is not contagious in any way. The precise cause of Vitiligo is not well-understood, though it seems to be the result of a combination of genetic, immunologic, biochemical and neurogenic factors.  It is often, though not always, seen in families.  Though the condition has no other known effects on the body, the psychological and social effects are well documented.

Today, vitiligo is a treatable condition, though treatment can take two years or longer to regain pigment, and regimentation may not be 100%. There is more research being conducted than ever before; in Europe, in Asia, and in the U.S., new technologies and research are changing physicians' approaches to the condition. The recent mapping of the human genome has paved the way for advanced genetic research into vitiligo, and other cell-based theories are also gaining attention.

Ayurveda as a science uses age old formulations and herbal preparations in combination with nature’s precious resources. A number of diseases have ultimately been cured by ayurveda in the modern scientific world.

In this blog we shall review the various treatment modalities of vitiligo and look at ayurveda as a separate treatment option.

Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune dermatological disorder where the pigment producing cells called melanocytes are attacked by our bodies natural immune mechanism. This results in the lack of melanin pigment and results in white patches on the body.

Following are the various treatment options in modern science-

Phototherapy:  Narrowband UVB light therapy is an ideal match for regimentation to cover a wide area of the body.  Extensive sittings from months to a year make up for a regular module of treatment. Although constant sessions are needed to complete the regimen.

Topical creams: corticosteroid creams can be a good alternative to high end surgery as they limit the number of anti-melanocyte antibodies produced. Tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant is also good for vitiligo.

Ayurveda studies autoimmune diseases erupting as a side effect to altered food consumption identifying them as “virudh aahar sevan”, that is, eating foods that are opposite in nature like eating fish and curd together.Secondly, there are certain auto- immune and inflammatory diseases such as Thyroid, Diabetes, Psoriasis and Pernicious Anemia which can trigger Vitiligo.

Psoriasis explained in terms of Ayurveda

Psoriasis treatment of Ayurveda

There was an article in the International Journal of Green Pharmacy which says that,
Psoriasis is classified as “Kushtha” by the Ayurvedic practitioners. Kushtha means the condition is constantly recurring; the disease is also known as “Krucchasadhya” which means intractable and “Asadhya” which means incurable. Psoriasis is considered Kashta sadhya means difficult to treat disorder.

Do you know what are causes of  Psoriasis according to Ayurveda?

Basically, the imbalance of “Vata” and “Kapha”, which are the two “Doshas” (areas of energy) causes Psoriasis. Let’s talk about “Vata” since people don’t know what it is.

So, it is something that controls body functions and it can cause skin scaling and dryness related to Psoriasis.

Now, the second “Doshas” which causes Psoriasis is “Kapha”. The body growth depends on Kapha and it can lead to quick skin cell turnover and itching. Toxins are built up in the body due to the imbalance of energy, which leads to inflammation. And as a result, the Ayurveda treatment revolves around diet, lifestyle advice and herbal applications and treatment. So, Ayurveda treatment of psoriasais not only revolves around herbal applications but others aspects of life as well.

How does Vitiligo Spread?

In the initial stage, some small patches of white skin develop. There is a contrast between Normal skin and the affected Vitiligo skin. All races are equally affected by Vitiligo, but people with dark skin tone get more affected by it and the patches are more noticeable. Where as in people with fair skin tone, the patches are noticeable when the skin tans.

The acuteness and course of vitiligo depends on different patients and their skin type. In some patients, the patches are developed slowly and don’t spread further. In some cases, the patches spread quickly and remain static for some time. It is more common for the patches to slowly become larger and more patches can be noticed on different areas of the body. The development of the patches cannot be anticipated. Usually, the white patches are permanent. There is also a probability of the patches to pigment and recoup their colour.

Large areas of skin are affected!!

Any part of the body can get affected. The most common areas are - neck, wrists, scalp, face and hands. Other common parts are genitals and nipples. Some parts like groins or armpits are affected as well. Old cuts or burns can be affected by Vitiligo. The white patches could be symmetrical and can appear on similar spots on legs and arms.

If the scalp gets affected then the hair is affected too. This results in making the colour of the hair turn white or grey. There are often symptoms where the colour of the eyelashes changes.

Vitiligo can also affect the whole body of the patient which is normally a rare case. If the whole body gets affected then it is called complete Vitiligo or universal Vitiligo.

Diet for Vitiligo Prevention

Vitiligo diet plan

There is always a doubt in vitiligo patient mind regarding their diet, What should they eat and what not to eat. There is also a question why not to eat this food and why to eat this food etc.

This article will reply all your queries. Vitiligo is a devastating mental stress causing disease present in 1% of the population. Recent studies have shown that there are many fruits, food and manmade products which are rich in PHENOLS. Foods which are rich in phenols are major trigger of vitiligo. Strawberry, Mango, Citrus Fruits, Red meat and turmeric are rich in phenols and are considered major triggers of vitiligo. These phenols enter blood stream and react with pigment forming process and cause disease.

Turmeric or Haldi is used since centuries for color fairness ( color loss). Rubbing of Haldi can cause color loss from skin and person become more fair. This is due to phenols. If patient suffering from vitiligo will use Haldi his or her color will lose fast.

Things You Ought to Know About Psoriasis Treatment?

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition that rapidly makes skin cell production leading to skin scaling, inflammation and redness.  It is followed by red patches that crack and bleed.  The intermittent growth of skin cells deep in the dermis may be for a few days.  But the rapid, overproduction could add up scales on joints, such as elbows and knees and spread to the hands, feet, neck, scalp, and face.  Research shows the common two causes of psoriasis could be genetics or the immune system.

In genetics, the inheritance factor plays a vital role where people are more likely to develop this condition if an immediate family member has it.  However, only 2-3% people have this gene influence.  We do also find instances of an autoimmune aliment.  Sometimes, white blood cells known as T cells attack the skin cells by mistake which triggers the rapid production of skin cells and these new cells pile up to the skin’s surface even faster.  Such collection causes plaque formation that in turn makes the skin red and inflamed.  Most medical therapy doesn’t have a treatment for psoriasis but Ayurveda claims 100% treatment.  Basically we have three categories: topical treatments, systemic medications, and light therapy.

Topical treatments

Topical creams that contain steroids or nonsteroidal ointments can be an effective way to control eczema/dermatitis and many other skin conditions.  This aid is beneficial in mild to moderate skin ailment.  These over the counter solutions like salicylic acid, moisturizers and scale lifters loosen skin stretch and relieves its pressure points.  Topical steroids can be combined with antibacterial and antifungal agents and calcipotriol.  Such creams and ointments when applied directly to the skin can help in reducing mild to moderate psoriasis.  Some of the key treatments included under this heading include topical corticosteroids, anthralin, topical retinoids, salicylic acid and moisturizer.

Systemic medications

Oral or injection drugs can be effective in treating people with moderate to severe psoriasis.  However, such drugs are open to severe side effects so doctors generally prescribe short-term courses on this therapy, usually given in oral or injection form.  The medications that follow in this regimen may include methotrexate, cyclosporine or retinoids.  While methotrexate suppresses the immune system, it could damage the liver and reduced production of red and white blood cells.  Side effects include hair loss and lip inflammation from retinoid use, and also risk of birth defects in pregnant women.  Cyclosporine can weaken the immune system paving way to kidney problems and high blood pressure.

Light therapy

A natural therapy where ultraviolet (UV) light is used which kills the overactive white blood cells to stop the rapid cell growth.  Both UVA and UVB light are helpful to control moderate psoriasis.  But most people with moderate to severe psoriasis use combined treatments to reduce symptoms.  Such regimen could continue their entire lives or need manipulation according to skin changes.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the science that has three elemental substances, the doshas (called Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and strives to maintain a balance of these doshas for a healthy life, while imbalance results in disease.  As Ayurveda deals with the root cause of psoriasis without any side effects, it is the desired aide to control the disease.  People having sun deprivation or strep infection on the upper respiratory tract can have psoriasis.  Detoxifying the body of dooshivishas or low potency poisons can help relieve this ailment.  For this purpose, Panchakarma therapies are helpful.  Ayurveda classifies food consumption in the right combination and potentiates avoiding too much intake of seafood, sour or salted food that trigger the psoriasis inducing pathogenesis.  Stress, alcohol, and tobacco consumption are other causes.  These lifestyle changes will help psoriasis reduce and control.

We find that since Ayurveda is a safer approach towards psoriatic treatment, it can be the desired way to getting a good way of life.
