Psoriasis explained in terms of Ayurveda

Psoriasis treatment of Ayurveda

There was an article in the International Journal of Green Pharmacy which says that,
Psoriasis is classified as “Kushtha” by the Ayurvedic practitioners. Kushtha means the condition is constantly recurring; the disease is also known as “Krucchasadhya” which means intractable and “Asadhya” which means incurable. Psoriasis is considered Kashta sadhya means difficult to treat disorder.

Do you know what are causes of  Psoriasis according to Ayurveda?

Basically, the imbalance of “Vata” and “Kapha”, which are the two “Doshas” (areas of energy) causes Psoriasis. Let’s talk about “Vata” since people don’t know what it is.

So, it is something that controls body functions and it can cause skin scaling and dryness related to Psoriasis.

Now, the second “Doshas” which causes Psoriasis is “Kapha”. The body growth depends on Kapha and it can lead to quick skin cell turnover and itching. Toxins are built up in the body due to the imbalance of energy, which leads to inflammation. And as a result, the Ayurveda treatment revolves around diet, lifestyle advice and herbal applications and treatment. So, Ayurveda treatment of psoriasais not only revolves around herbal applications but others aspects of life as well.
